Florence city passes compared: the Firenze Card and museum combo tickets

The main passes at a glance

The Firenze Card costs 85 EUR, is valid for 72 hours and grants entry to about 80 museums and sights including the Uffizi, the Accademia and the Palazzo Pitti, with no separate timed-slot reservation fee. The Firenze Card+ add-on also covers public transport.

On top of that, Tiqets, Viator and GetYourGuide sell their own combos, such as the Uffizi plus the Accademia or the Duomo plus a city tour. These are more flexible but narrower than the Firenze Card.

When a pass pays off

Do the maths honestly: add the single prices of the sites you will definitely visit and compare with the pass. Anything you might do does not count. EU citizens under 18 already enter state museums free, so usually only the adult pass makes sense there.

Time-limited passes create pressure. In 72 hours you realistically manage four or five museums plus one or two churches.

What passes do not cover

Florence's overnight visitor tax, the imposta di soggiorno, is billed through your hotel and is not part of any attraction pass.

Tuscany day trips are usually not included either, so trips to Siena or Pisa need a separate booking.
